Finally a lesson!

Well we finally got a lesson in after almost a month and a half!!!! So needless to say I felt ALL over the place. It was a jumping lesson....I was hoping to get a dressage lesson in before that but oh well. Leg's was CRAZY! shes a STDbred mare not sure on her age probably around 12. She is a wonderful jumper....but since lessons had been cancelled for the last 2 weeks and her owner wasnt willing to go out to ride her she was a stall pony. *sigh* which of course was taken out on me. She got in quite a few really good bucks that (thanks to my balance..yes i am bragging ha!) didnt throw me, though i was quite surprised that i didnt fall off atleast once. After we went over a few jumps (still bucking and cow kicking) she calmed down and our lesson went quite a bit better.

She was still all crazy head as high into the air as possible, and her "trot" was mainly a pace with some prancing thrown in for good measure. But she stopped bucking... its a good thing she loves to jump so much. It probably didnt help that I was riding in my mountain horse boots for the first time. They feel very clunky and in the way, hopefully I will get used to them soon because they do keep my feet warm. After she calmed down we did some stirrupless jumps....I did o.k. and now my inner thighs are killing me. Gotta suck it up though Dressage lesson is in a couple of hours! I want to get one in before the temperature plummits yet again on thursday. *wooo who*

Snow storm

Well classes were cancelled today! Which sorta sucked in the fact that I dont have classes on Thursdays. I still had my Animal Nutrition Quiz though. So I wasnt all together pleased, especially since my lesson was cancelled too! Its the second one thats been cancelled this week. Oh well we shall just have to wait till next week ;).

I did get to the gym though. There were a gazillion people there today! It was a little nuts, but I managed to do everything I always do, and it didnt take any longer than normal (approximately an hour to an hour & 15 minutes) So that was great!

Dew is coming to visit today. Which is good because i havent seen him for a couple of weeks now. OH and marie let me borrow her Eventing DVD of the 2004 Olympics. I haven't finished it yet because we had "staff bonding" and watched Napoleon Dynomite.......an odd movie for sure! BUT it did make my laugh my ass off. Anyways the DVD is really great. They dont show too much of the dressage, you have to buy the Dressage DVD in order to see every test in full! But holly crap that would be LONG...and i really love jumping so its good to see that too, more of an adrenaline rush *grin*.....

Here we go

Well here we go, after being coerced so nicely, I decided I would try to give this whole journal thing a go! Not much went on today other than its my super busy day. Classes are straight out from 9am-2pm. The last being at the Witter Farm center. I had to do body conditioning on cows......I HATE cows!!!! But it is what I must endure in order to graduate next spring ;). One of them wasn't too bad. She really liked her head to be scratched, and of course I am drawn to one of the ONLY ones that are known to be avid kickers..... I forget her name, but I do remember that she is number 47.

Yep so I rode the fat little stdbred pony today. She is very fat, stubborn, short, but completely irresistable. She has a very adorable puppy like face if that makes sense? You know with the big round eyes and the I want a treat! Anyways they finally got a few decent whips. The only one they had before was a pathetic excuse. It was irritating to use it. Anyways after giving her a little smack after the first couple cow kicks. She really is difficult to work with.....wont listen to your leg, wont move forward, cow kicks the first 15 minutes whenever I do ask her to move forward and listen to my leg. She is just completely lazy!

Okallies thats it for me! Duty tonight so I need to do rounds and head off to bed! Lesson in the a.m.
